The Domain Wintergardens is a complex of gardens located within Auckland Domain. The Wintergardens consists of two large glasshouses: one non-heated Temperate House and one Tropical House (heated to an average of 28 °C). In between the two glasshouses there is an ornate courtyard with several neoclassical statues and a sunken pond in the centre.

Karekare Falls is located in the western part of Waitakere Ranges Regional Park, near Karekare village - the filming location for "The Piano". Beautiful scenery and easy access make this waterfall one of New Zealand Must See Waterfalls.

Piha is a scenic black-sand surf beach on the rugged coast west of Auckland. There are several walks through native forest in the surrounding hills
